Cycling love

I remember stepping into the Cycle Works in Roswell, Georgia off of Holcomb bridge road like it was yesterday. There was a smell of rubber tires, chain lubrication and the sight of the coolest mountain bikes I had ever seen. I picked up a brochure for the local GAP series mountain bike racing calendar and entered my first race a few weeks before my 13th birthday. My father supported my racing carrier, dragging me all around Georgia, rain or shine until I was 16. Thanks Dad! In high school we had a mountain bike club, riding the local Big Creek trials before the city bought the land and gave the trails that name. We had to jump the fence at the local elementary school hoping to not get caught! Sneaking into these trails was living on edge as a young person and shredding trails made us feel rebellious and free! In college I took the sport more seriously competing in the states only mountain bike Time Trail, (The Snake 6 mountain time trial: www.sorba.org), GSC (Georgia State mountain championships) and the SERC (Southeast Mountain bike Championships) produce by www.goneriding.com, Terry and Dave Berger. Lots of awesome memories battling all the way from a beginner earning a my way to a Category 1 / semi professional mountain bike racer. Racing consistently for over 20 years. Now I am a fair weather bike racer with 2 jobs, riding my bike as my much as my work schedule allows. If you are a fellow athlete you can request to follow my activities on Strava.
